The 7-PHASE ACL SYSTEM

Based on The PRO Method. We don’t guess. We test, load, and progress.

01 & 02

Protection

Focus on the resolution of joint effusion, restoration of full terminal knee extension, and re-establishing quadriceps recruitment. This phase is dedicated to protecting the graft while mitigating arthrogenic muscle inhibition.

03

Functional Restoration

Focus on the total normalization of functional movement patterns. Clinicians focus on achieving full, symmetrical range of motion and ensuring the athlete demonstrates "quiet" mechanics during gait, stair negotiation, and single-leg balance.

04

Progressive Overload

This is where we build the engine. We shift from "moving well" to "moving weight," prioritizing quad strength and endurance. We also lean heavily into the posterior and lateral chains, the areas that usually get left behind in standard rehab.

05

Intro to Impact

Moving from the table to the turf. We start a graduated plyometric progression, teaching the athlete how to land, absorb force, and find their "spring" again through early-stage jumping.

06

Deceleration

Mastering the mechanics of the "stop." This phase focuses on eccentric control, multi-planar deceleration, and the technical breakdown of cutting maneuvers to reduce non-contact injury risk.

07

Return to Sport

The final bridge. We introduce reactive agility, sport-specific chaos, and full-speed movements. We use a final battery of tests to ensure they are 100% ready for the demands of the game.

YOUR ACL REHAB INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Leon Knight, PT

15 years ago I tore my ACL playing basketball! That rehab experience ignited my passion for physical therapy, and for helping others recover from otherwise career ending injuries.

Fast forward to 2015… I’m a new PT grad, and I’m struggling with my first ACL patient. I felt unprepared and inadequate. The standard protocols were failing me. I wasn’t sure when to progress, what pain was normal and what I should be concerned about, how to get my patient over hurdles that stopped progress… I felt lost.

Cut to the present… after a decade of deep diving into the literature, treating thousands of top-level athletes, hundreds of post-op cases, and extensive trial and error.

The Result? The PRO Method… the system that has transformed my patient outcomes. And now, I’m sharing it with you, so it can transform your patient outcomes too.

Why the 9-Month Timeline is a Clinical Liability

While a 9-month timeline provides a starting point, it is an incomplete measure of readiness that often overlooks quad symmetry, deceleration mechanics, and reactive agility. Our system empowers you to stop guessing and start measuring.

You need a plan that's been tested and trusted.
