For patients told “this is as good as it gets”
and clinicians who know the bar has dropped.
Rehab is broken.
Not because people don’t care.
But because standards have been replaced with shortcuts.
Pain relief is confused with progress.
Time is confused with readiness.
Return to play is declared instead of earned.
15 years ago I tore my ACL playing basketball! That rehab experience ignited my passion for physical therapy, and for helping others recover from otherwise career ending injuries.
Fast forward to 2015… I’m a new PT grad, and I’m struggling with my first ACL patient. I felt unprepared and inadequate. The standard protocols were failing me. I wasn’t sure when to progress, what pain was normal and what I should be concerned about, how to get my patient over hurdles that stopped progress… I felt lost.
Cut to the present… after a decade of deep diving into the literature, treating thousands of top-level athletes, hundreds of post-op cases, and extensive trial and error.
The Result? The PRO Method… the system that has transformed my patient outcomes. And now, I’m sharing it with you, so it can transform your patient outcomes too.
Dr. Leon is an orthopedic and sports physical therapist who helps professional and collegiate athletes, and everyday fitness enthusiasts, overcome injuries, aches and pains.
His approach is simple: discover the cause of pain, develop a plan to fix it, and empower patients with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Dr. Leon exercises and plays sports as a way of life, so he understands the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle, and how frustrating it can be when pain or injury stop you from working out and staying fit.
Dr. Leon earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College, and his Bachelor of Science from Elon University.
Dr. Carrie is an orthopedic physical therapist who uses a patient-centered approach to focus on achieving goals that are specific to each patient.
She exercises and stays active playing with her three kids, so she understands how life altering an injury can be. Dr. Carrie values developing meaningful relationships with her patients, so she can be a continued resource for them and help guide them to being their best self.
Dr. Carrie earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College, and her Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University.
Rachel joined The Performance Doc in January of 2025. She comes to us with almost 20 years experience in Hospital Pharmacy where she “retired” to be a SAHM. She is detail oriented and excited to invest her experience to help support the clinicians so they can focus on patient specific care.
In addition to a strong work ethic, Rachel is very outgoing and genuinely loves connecting with people, patients, and coworkers.
Outside of work, Rachel’s passions are faith, family and cooking. She reluctantly jumped on the sourdough crazy train and has been hooked ever since. She has been married to her wonderful husband for 20 years and has 2 teens and a very needy golden retriever.
Leslie began working at The Performance Doc in April 2022 and has since become an integral part of the team with her extensive history of managerial and customer service experience.
Leslie has a very outgoing personality, loves engaging people, and knows how to light up a room with her smile and contagious laugh!
Having lived in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA most of her life, Leslie and her husband relocated to NC back in 2020. Leslie often says moving to NC was one of the BEST decisions that she ever made, as there is never a shortage of “Southern Hospitality” down here!
In her spare time, she loves to cook, sing and SHOP!! EMPHASIS ON SHOPPING!!
